How Maxey Makes the List

According to the rankings, Maxey – a third-year player and former 2020 first-round pick from the University of Kentucky – posted a cap hit of $2,726,880 in the 2022-23 season, totaling 5.4 points at $504,978 per point share.

Maxey was ranked 21st overall in the NBA.

The 6-2, 200-pounder, who has yet to play a full 82 games in a season, had his most productive year ever in his third season with the Sixers. He averaged 20.3 points per game (39th in the league), 3.5 assists (68th), 2.9 rebounds (150+), while shooting 48.1% from the field (62nd).

His offensive production climbed by more than 12 points since his rookie season (2020-21), but his minutes played, rebounds and assists per game all saw a small drop from his second to third season.

Maxey played an integral part of the Sixers success this season, leading Philadelphia again to the Eastern Conference semifinals as a three-seed, before bowing out in seven games to its main rival, the Boston Celtics. It was a frustrating series for the Sixers, who brought a 3-2 led into Game 6 at home but couldn’t close the deal.

About the Other Underrated Players

The Memphis Grizzlies (3), Minnesota Timberwolves (2), Utah Jazz (2), New Orleans Pelicans (2) and New York Knicks (2) are the only teams in the league that featured multiple underrated players in the Top 25.

Eleven teams didn't have a player in the Top 25: the Atlanta Hawks, Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Sacramento Kings, Orlando Magic, Dallas Mavericks, Brooklyn Nets, Indiana Pacers, Detroit Pistons, Toronto Raptors and Phoenix Suns.

Surprisingly, six of the 11 teams not featured were in the NBA Playoffs bracket. However, all four conference finals teams feature a player in the Top 25.

BetPennsylvania.com will keep an eye on the Sixers heading into next season as well as be your best bet for Pennsylvania betting promotions.
